Practicing Peace
For new students seeking an introduction to yoga and more advanced students looking to master their practice, Jasonwill customize your training to suit your particular level of balance, strength, and flexibility, guiding you through an assisted practice that will eventually become your own. Whatever brings you to yoga, the practice brings forth amazing changes in body, mind, and spirit—transformations commensurate with your dedication to developing your practice.
For pairs of yogis seeking to develop a mutually beneficial practice, I also offer guided partner yoga . Partner yoga sessions feature side-by-side and joint poses that connect and deepen each yogi's practice. Synchronized sequences, assisted stretching, shared energy work, and harmonizing meditation forge a heartfelt and lasting bond between practitioners.
Since learning the philosophy of yoga is key to understanding the transformations that occur as the practice evolves, sessions can also explore yoga philosophy and literature. I can provide a list of readings from Dr. Ray Long, Jack Kornfield, Mark Forstater and Jo Manuel, Sri Swami Satchidananda, Thich Nhat Hahn, Jamie Sams. In the ten-week course, the practice can to delve into the traditional yoga texts: The Upanishads, The Bhagavad Gita, and the Yoga Sutras.
I encourage all of my students to attend at least two other yoga classes per week. You will always be welcome in my group classes, and I will be glad to help you find classes to suit your schedule and location. Please see the Session Rates page for options.
